Cheese Sauce

This sauce is great over vegetables, as pretzel dip, or just on a spoon! 🙂

Cheese Sauce

Makes: About 2 1/2 cups

Ingredients  

  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 cups milk (or half & half)
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp dry mustard
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 ⅓ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions: 

  • In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients EXCEPT for the cheese.
  • Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheese.
  • Serve warm.

Notes:

Make Ahead: You can easily make this ahead of time and just reheat it. You may need to add a little milk to thin it when you reheat it.
Diet: Egg Free
