Prepare the fruit (wash & cut up whatever needs to be cut) then combine it in a bowl (preferably in a colander, so the extra juice can drain). Set aside until close to serving time.*If preparing ahead of time, toss the apples and bananas in a little lemon juice and water to keep them from turning brown.
Close to serving time, whip the cream until it turns into whipped cream then mix in the powdered sugar.
Fold the whipped cream into the fruit and serve.
Notes:
You can use pretty much any combination of fruit, but here are some good choices.
Apples, chopped
Grapes, cut in half
Bananas, sliced
Blueberries
Canned fruit cocktail, drained
Canned Mandarin oranges, drained
Make Ahead: You can easily prepare the fruit ahead of time, but wait to combine the whipped cream and fruit until close to serving time, otherwise it will become watery.
