2Tbspcornstarch(dissolved in 1/4 cup of cold water)
3Tbsplemon juice
1Tbspbutter
Instructions:
In a saucepan, bring 1 1/4 cups of water to a boil.
Add the sugar and salt and stir until dissolved.
In a cup, dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 cup cold water.
Stirring constantly, pour the cornstarch mixture into the boiling mixture.
Cook until thick and clear then remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and butter.
Serve warm.
Notes:
*Lime juice works well if you don't have lemon juice on hand.Make ahead: it works really well to make this ahead of time and warm it just before serving.
