In a large bowl, combine the oil, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Add the bread cubes and toss until all the cubes are well coated.
Spread the bread cubes in an even layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 mintues or until slightly golden brown and crisp. - Watch closely so they don't burn. They may need to be flipped a couple times.*The older and staler the bread is, the quicker the croutons will brown.*
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Notes:
Make Ahead: These are best eaten within a day or two of making because they can become stale pretty quickly. However, they do keep for a couple days in an airtight container and you can always recrisp them in the oven for 5-10 minutes.
