Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread (cubed into crouton size)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 dash black pepper

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°.
  • Cut the bread into crouton-sized cubes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the oil, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add the bread cubes and toss until all the cubes are well coated.
  • Spread the bread cubes in an even layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10 mintues or until slightly golden brown and crisp. – Watch closely so they don't burn. They may need to be flipped a couple times.
*The older and staler the bread is, the quicker the croutons will brown.*
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.

Notes:

Make Ahead: These are best eaten within a day or two of making because they can become stale pretty quickly. However, they do keep for a couple days in an airtight container and you can always recrisp them in the oven for 5-10 minutes.
