Hamburger Patties

While these may not be “true hamburgers” in meat-lovers’ eyes, they are the most tender hamburgers ever. The secret of these hamburger patties is that, similar to meatloaf, these have oatmeal and egg added to them.

Ingredients  

  • 2 lb ground hamburger
  • 2 large eggs (slightly beaten)
  • 1/3-1/2 cup rolled quick oats (or enough to absorb the egg )
  • 1 ½ Tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions: 

  • Slightly beat the egg then combine all the ingredients and press gently into patties.
  • Either grill or cook in a skillet.

Notes:

Make Ahead: You can easily make these up ahead of time and freeze them or store them, covered, in the fridge until time to use.
These are extremely versatile – you can use pretty much any seasoning combination in them.
