Oriental Lemon Sauce

This is a delicious sauce you can use or can pour over any oriental dish.

Ingredients  

  • ½ cup water
  • 1 ½ cups lemon juice
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

Instructions: 

You can make this on the stovetop and microwave.

  • Stovetop: combine all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a simmer, and allow to simmer until it begins to thicken and turn clear. Stir occasionally.
    Microwave: combine all the sauce ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 1-2 minute increments until it begins to thicken and turn clear.

Notes:

This is the sauce used for my Lemon Chicken dish.
