This is an easy chocolate pie recipe.
No Bake Chocolate Pie
Makes: 1 9-inch pie (Prep time doesn't include making the crust.)
Print Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 9-inch pie crust (prepackaged or homemade – see note)
- 1 5.85oz box chocolate pudding (or homemade – see note)
- 11/2 cups whipping cream (or 3 cups whipped)
- ⅓ cup powdered sugar (more or less to taste)
Instructions:
- Prepare the crust (homemade or prepackaged) and fully bake it.
- While the crust bakes, prepare the pudding. Either make 1 recipe of homemade or 1 5.85 box. *If you make homemade, you will probably want to thicken it a bit more than the recipe says.
- Set the pudding aside to set up.
- Whip the cream until it's thick then gradually add the powdered sugar until it's sweet enough.
Assembly:
- When the crust is baked, the pudding is set up, and the cream is whipped; gently fold the pudding and whipped cream together then pour it into the crust. (You may not need all the whipped cream – you can spread the leftover cream over the top.)
- Place the pie in the fridge to cool for at least 1 hour.

Here is my homemade chocolate pudding recipe – it might need a bit more thickening to be used for pie.
Make Ahead: This is a good recipe to make early in the day because it’s best if it can chill for a couple hours before serving. You can also prepare the crust ahead of time.
