Ingredients

  • 8 cups fruit (see note below)
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream (or 4 cups whipped)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (more or less to taste)

Instructions:

  • Prepare the fruit (wash & cut up whatever needs to be cut) then combine it in a bowl (preferably in a colander, so the extra juice can drain). Set aside until close to serving time.
*If preparing ahead of time, toss the apples and bananas in a little lemon juice and water to keep them from turning brown.
  • Close to serving time, whip the cream until it turns into whipped cream then mix in the powdered sugar.
  • Fold the whipped cream into the fruit and serve.

Notes:

You can use pretty much any combination of fruit, but here are some good choices.
  • Apples, chopped
  • Grapes, cut in half
  • Bananas, sliced
  • Blueberries
  • Canned fruit cocktail, drained
  • Canned Mandarin oranges, drained
Make Ahead: You can easily prepare the fruit ahead of time, but wait to combine the whipped cream and fruit until close to serving time, otherwise it will become watery.
