Lemon Sauce
This lemon sauce is a very nice addition to Dutch babies, crepes, and even gingerbread.
Lemon Sauce
Makes: 2 cups of sauce

Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups water (boiling)
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 dash salt
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch (dissolved in 1/4 cup of cold water)
- 3 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp butter
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, bring 1 1/4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the sugar and salt and stir until dissolved.
- In a cup, dissolve the cornstarch in 1/4 cup cold water.
- Stirring constantly, pour the cornstarch mixture into the boiling mixture.
- Cook until thick and clear then remove from the heat and stir in the lemon juice and butter.
- Serve warm.
Notes:
*Lime juice works well if you don’t have lemon juice on hand.
Make ahead: it works really well to make this ahead of time and warm it just before serving.
