French Toast

This recipe is simple but yummy!

French Toast

This makes 12 large or 16 small pieces of French toast.
It takes about 10 minutes per batch on the griddle

Ingredients  

  • 12 large slices bread (or 16 slices if you are using a smaller type of bread like french bread)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 ⅓ cups milk (or half & half or cream)
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions: 

  • Preheat the griddle.
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together all the ingredients except for the bread.
  • When the griddle is hot, place the slices of bread, one or two at a time, into the egg mixture.
  • Turn the slices in the egg mixture until thoroughly saturated but not falling apart.
  • Place the slices on the griddle and cook until the underside is golden-brown.
  • Turn the bread and cook until the second side is golden.
  • Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven or a crockpot.
