Homemade enchilada sauce is a step up from the canned version!
Enchilada Sauce #1
Makes: About 4 cups of sauce

Ingredients
- 1 15oz can tomato sauce
- 1 6oz can tomato paste
- 1 ½ cups beef broth
- ½ tsp salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp chili powder (more or less to taste)
Instructions:
- Mix ingredients in a saucepan until thoroughly combined.
- Over medium heat, bring the sauce to a boil.
- When it begins to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Notes:
Make Ahead: This can easily be made up ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until time to use it.
